wh12x20898
GE Washer Pressure Switch (WH12X20898)

The GE Washer Pressure Switch monitors the water level inside the drum during the fill cycle and signals the control board to stop filling once the correct level is reached. It works by sensing air pressure changes through a small hose connected to the tub, translating that pressure into an electrical signal that tells the washer when to move on to the next cycle step.

A GE washer pressure switch can fail due to a clogged or kinked pressure hose, debris blocking the sensor port, or internal wear on the switch contacts over time. When the switch stops reading water levels accurately, the washer may overfill, underfill, or become confused about where it is in the wash cycle.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the pressure switch is the source of your washer problem:

- Washer overfills with water and does not stop at the correct level

- Washer fills with little or no water before starting the cycle

- Cycle pauses or stalls during the fill stage

- Error codes related to water level or fill time appear on the display

- Washer runs continuously without advancing through cycle stages

- Clothes come out soaking wet due to improper water level control

- Washer will not start because it cannot confirm a proper water level

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0569/6189/2437/files/ge-washer-pressure-switch-wh12x20898.jpg?v=1793400813
