wp4389155
Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor (WP4389155)

The Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor powers the evaporator fan that circulates cold air from the freezer compartment throughout the refrigerator, keeping temperatures consistent in both sections. It draws air across the evaporator coils and pushes it through the vents so the refrigerator maintains proper cooling without relying solely on the compressor to do all the work.

The Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor can fail due to worn bearings, ice buildup around the fan blades, moisture damage, or simply reaching the end of its service life after years of continuous use. When the motor weakens or stops, airflow is reduced or cut off entirely, which forces the compressor to work harder and often leads to temperature problems throughout the appliance.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the evaporator motor is the cause of your refrigerator issue:

- Refrigerator or freezer not cooling properly despite the compressor running

- Unusual humming, buzzing, or squealing noise coming from the back of the freezer

- Fan blade spins freely by hand but motor does not run on its own

- Frost or ice buildup on evaporator coils caused by lack of airflow

- Food spoiling faster than normal in the fresh food section

- Refrigerator runs constantly without reaching the set temperature

- Complete silence from the freezer area when the compressor is on

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0569/6189/2437/files/whirlpool-refrigerator-evaporator-motor-wp4389155.jpg?v=1792214035
