The main control board is the central brain of your front-load washer, managing every function from water fill and temperature to motor speed, spin cycles, and drain timing. It receives input from sensors and user controls, then sends the right signals to each component so the wash cycle runs correctly from start to finish.
Control boards can fail from power surges, moisture exposure, overheating, or simply wearing out over years of use. Burned components, cracked solder joints, or damaged relays on the board can cause it to lose communication with one or more parts of the washer, leading to erratic or failed operation.
If your front-load washer is showing any of these symptoms, the main control board may be the cause:
- Washer will not power on or respond to any button presses
- Cycle stops mid-wash and will not continue without being restarted
- Error codes appear on the display that cannot be cleared
- Washer fills with water but the drum does not begin to spin or agitate
- Controls appear to work but certain functions like heat or spin do not activate
- Display is blank, flickering, or showing garbled information
- Washer behaves unpredictably, skipping steps or running the wrong cycle

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
