The Whirlpool Oven Heating Element supplies heat to the oven cavity during bake and, on some models, broil. It converts electrical power into radiant heat so the oven can reach and hold the set temperature. If this part cannot heat evenly or at all, the oven may struggle to cook food as expected.

Heating elements often fail from age and repeated high-heat cycles that fatigue the metal. A visible burn spot or a break in the coil can stop it from heating.
