Whirlpool Water Valve (WPW10341320)

The Whirlpool Water Valve controls the flow of water into your refrigerator. It opens and closes to send water to the ice maker, the water dispenser, or both, based on signals from the appliance.

This valve can fail when mineral scale builds up inside it, when internal seals wear, or when the solenoid coil burns out. It can also leak if debris prevents it from closing fully.

If your refrigerator is not making ice or dispensing water as expected, these symptoms can help you decide if this valve is the source of the problem:

• No water dispensing from the door, even with normal household water pressure
• Ice maker not filling with water, or no ice production despite the freezer being cold
• Slow water flow at the dispenser
• Water leaking at the rear of the refrigerator near the inlet connection
• Ice maker overfilling or small ice cubes due to inconsistent water flow
• Buzzing or humming from the valve area when water is requested, with little or no water delivered
