Whirlpool Washer Door Seal (WPW10381562)

The Whirlpool Washer Door Seal fits around the front opening of a front-load washer and seals against the door glass. It helps keep wash water inside the tub during fill, wash, and spin. It also guides small amounts of water to the drain ports in the lower fold of the seal.

Common failures happen from wear, residue buildup, or damage to the rubber. Tears can form from sharp items left in pockets or from overloading that pulls on the seal. Mold and detergent buildup can make the seal stiff or misshapen and can block the drain holes, which can lead to leaks.

If your washer shows any of these signs, this door seal may be the cause:

• Water leaking from the front of the washer, especially during fill or spin
• Visible tears, holes, or cracks in the rubber gasket
• The door will not close evenly or you see gaps along the seal
• Water collecting in the lower fold of the seal and not draining
• Musty odors that persist after cleaning the drum
• Streaks of water or detergent residue running down from the door opening
