The Whirlpool Oven Safety Fuse helps protect the oven from overheating by opening the electrical circuit when temperatures or current levels rise beyond a safe limit. When it opens, it stops power to certain oven functions to reduce the risk of damage.
Common causes of failure include repeated overheating, blocked airflow, a failing cooling fan, extended high-heat use, or an electrical short in related wiring or components. Once the fuse opens, it does not reset and must be replaced after the underlying cause is addressed.
You may need this part if you notice one or more of these symptoms:
- Oven will not heat in bake or broil even though the display and controls turn on
- Oven is completely dead with no lights or display
- Oven stops heating during a cycle and will not restart after cooling
- Intermittent loss of oven power that becomes permanent
- No power to specific oven functions while other appliance features work normally

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
