Whirlpool Washer Drain Pump (WPW10730972)

The Whirlpool Washer Drain Pump moves used water out of the washer tub and through the drain hose during drain and spin cycles. It helps the washer empty at the right time so the cycle can finish and the load can spin with less water left in the fabric.

Drain pumps can fail from debris in the wash water, such as coins, hair pins, buttons, or small fabric items that slip past the tub. A blockage can strain the motor or crack the pump housing. Seals can wear and start to leak. Electrical failure in the pump motor can also stop the pump from running.

If your washer is having any of these symptoms, this drain pump may be the cause:

• Washer will not drain, or drains very slowly
