Electrolux Range Bake Ignitor (316489403)

The Electrolux Range Bake Ignitor is the component that lights the bake burner in your gas range, allowing the oven to reach and hold the temperature you set. It works by drawing enough electrical current to glow hot, which simultaneously opens the gas valve and ignites the gas flowing to the bake burner at the bottom of the oven cavity.

The Electrolux Range Bake Ignitor can weaken or fail over time due to normal heat cycling, exposure to grease and moisture, or a crack in the ignitor element itself. When the ignitor draws too little current, the gas valve will not open fully or at all, leaving the oven unable to light or maintain heat properly.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the bake ignitor is the source of your problem:
