The Electrolux Flex Tray Ice Maker is the self-contained unit inside your side-by-side refrigerator that freezes water into ice cubes and releases them into the storage bin. It works by filling a flexible tray with water, freezing it to the correct temperature, then twisting the tray to eject the cubes automatically on a timed cycle.
The Electrolux Flex Tray Ice Maker can stop working properly due to a failed motor, a cracked or worn flex tray that no longer twists and releases ice, a faulty thermostat, or mineral buildup from hard water over time. Electrical issues, a stuck ejector, or water inlet problems can also cause the unit to produce malformed cubes, freeze up, or stop making ice entirely.
Look for these symptoms to help determine if the ice maker needs to be replaced:
- Refrigerator produces little or no ice
- Ice cubes are undersized, misshapen, or clumped together
- Flex tray does not twist or release cubes into the bin
- Ice maker fills with water but never completes a cycle
- Unit is visibly cracked, warped, or damaged
- Loud clicking, grinding, or humming sounds during the ice-making cycle
- Ice maker freezes up or ice forms in irregular places inside the tray housing

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
