The LG Dryer Igniter is the component responsible for lighting the gas burner that heats the air inside your dryer. When the dryer calls for heat, the igniter glows red-hot to ignite the gas flowing through the burner assembly, producing the warm air that dries your clothes. Without a functioning igniter, the burner cannot light and the dryer will run without producing any heat.

LG dryer igniters can fail over time due to normal wear from repeated heating and cooling cycles, which causes the element to become brittle and eventually crack or break.
