LG Pump Casing (ABT72989206)

The LG Pump Casing is the outer housing that surrounds the drain pump and directs water through the pump path and into the drain hose. It helps seal the pump area, supports the filter and inlet/outlet connections, and keeps water contained as the pump moves it out of the washer.

Common failures include cracks from impact or stress, worn sealing surfaces, damaged threads, or leaks caused by debris that keeps the housing from sealing. Over-tightening fasteners, using the washer with a clogged filter, or running the pump with restricted flow can also lead to damage over time.

These symptoms can help you decide whether the pump casing is the source of the problem:

• Water leaking from the lower front or underside of the washer during drain or spin
• Drips or pooling that appears near the pump/filter access area
• Leak that starts after cleaning the filter or servicing the drain pump
• Visible crack, warp, or broken mounting point on the pump housing
• Filter cap or seal area will not seat properly and continues to seep
• Water spraying or running from the pump area when the washer tries to drain
