The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker produces and dispenses ice by cycling water into a mold, freezing it, and then harvesting the cubes into the ice bin for storage and dispensing. It works with the refrigerator's water inlet valve and control board to manage fill cycles, freezing time, and ejection, keeping a steady supply of ice available in your French Door refrigerator.
The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker can fail due to worn ejector components, a burned-out heating element that releases the ice from the mold, a faulty thermostat, or mineral buildup from hard water over time. Motor failure, cracked mold housings, or electrical faults within the assembly can also cause the unit to stop producing ice entirely or work inconsistently.
