The LG Ice Maker forms and harvests ice in the freezer by filling its mold with water, freezing it, and ejecting the cubes into the bin. It works with the refrigerator’s water inlet valve, fill tube, and internal controls to time the fill and release cycle.

Failures often come from a worn motor module, a sticking ejector mechanism, or a faulty internal thermostat that misreads mold temperature. Ice buildup in the mold or fill tube, low water flow, or debris in the water path can also stop the cycle or cause irregular fills.
