The LG Ice Maker forms and harvests ice cubes inside the refrigerator freezer. It fills the ice mold with water, freezes the water into cubes, and cycles the cubes into the storage bin as the unit runs.
Failure can come from a jammed ejector mechanism, worn motor or gears, a faulty internal switch, mineral buildup that slows movement, or ice blockage that prevents the mold from cycling. Temperature issues or inconsistent water fill can also lead to poor ice production and stress the assembly over time.
These symptoms can help you decide whether this ice maker is the source of the problem:
- No ice production even though the freezer is cold and the ice maker is turned on
- Ice maker fills but does not dump cubes into the bin
- Ejector arms stall, click, or repeatedly cycle without releasing ice
- Small, hollow, or misshapen cubes linked to inconsistent fill or stalled harvesting
- Ice cubes stuck in the mold or frequent clumping in the bin after partial harvests
- Water overfills the mold and freezes into a slab or spills into the bin
- Intermittent ice production that stops until the unit is reset or the bin is emptied

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
