The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker is an assembly that produces and harvests ice inside your refrigerator's freezer compartment. It works by filling an ice mold with water, freezing it using the freezer's cold air, and then releasing the cubes into the ice bin for storage and dispensing.
The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker can fail due to worn or broken components in the harvest motor, a cracked or warped ice mold, failed thermostat, or damage caused by repeated freeze and thaw cycles over time. Water inlet issues, low freezer temperatures, or a stuck ejector arm can also put strain on the assembly until it stops producing ice reliably.
You may need to replace the ice maker if you notice any of these symptoms:
- Ice maker produces no ice despite the freezer being at the correct temperature
- Ice cubes come out misshapen, undersized, or stuck together in clumps
- Ice maker runs continuously without completing a harvest cycle
- Unusual grinding, clicking, or humming sounds coming from the freezer compartment
- Ice bin remains empty even though the ice maker appears to be cycling
- Water leaks inside the freezer near the ice maker assembly
- Ice dispenser stops working due to no ice being produced or harvested

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
