LG Washer Water Inlet Valve Assembly (AJU73213301)

The inlet valve assembly controls the flow of hot and cold water into the washing machine at the start of each cycle and during rinse fills. It uses electrically operated solenoids to open and close the valve ports based on signals from the control board, allowing the correct water temperature and fill level to be reached. When working properly, it delivers a steady, controlled flow of water into the tub each time a cycle begins.

Inlet valves commonly fail when mineral deposits from hard water clog the valve screens or build up inside the ports, restricting or blocking water flow. The solenoid coils can also burn out or develop electrical faults over time, preventing the valve from opening or closing on command. Physical damage to the valve body or worn seals can also cause slow drips or leaks near the water connection at the back of the washer.

If you notice any of these symptoms, your washing machine inlet valve may need to be replaced:

- Washer does not fill with water at the start of a cycle

- Washer fills very slowly or only partially before the cycle begins

- Water continues to trickle or run into the tub when the washer is off

- Washer fills with the wrong water temperature despite correct settings

- Loud hammering or vibrating noise from the water supply lines during fill

- Error codes related to water supply or fill time appearing on the display

- Visible leaking or dripping near the water inlet connections at the back of the washer
