LG Washer Door Seal (MDS47123608)

The LG Washer Door Seal sits around the door opening and forms a watertight barrier between the tub and the front panel. It keeps wash water inside the machine during fill, wash, and drain. It also helps reduce vibration noise by cushioning contact between the door area and the moving tub.

This seal can fail from normal wear, repeated flexing, and buildup of detergent residue and debris. Tears can start at the folds or at the drain ports. Mold and mildew can weaken the rubber over time. Damage can also happen if sharp items in the load catch the seal or if the door is forced closed on an object.
