Whirlpool Dishwasher Rack Adjuster (W10195840)

The Whirlpool Dishwasher Rack Adjuster lets you raise or lower the upper rack so taller dishes can fit on either rack. It guides the rack along the side rails and helps the rack stay level as it moves in and out.

Failure often comes from cracked plastic, worn wheels, or broken locking tabs. Repeated loading, heavy items, and slamming the rack can stress the adjuster. Detergent residue and heat can also make parts brittle over time.

If the upper rack is not moving or sitting right, these symptoms can point to a bad rack adjuster:

• Upper rack will not raise or lower, or will not lock into position
• Rack tilts, sags, or sits unevenly from side to side
• Rack binds, sticks, or comes off the rails when pulled out
• Grinding, clicking, or popping noise as the rack moves
• Visible cracks, broken tabs, or missing wheel pieces on the rack adjuster
