The Whirlpool Dishwasher Hose Elbow Adapter connects a dishwasher hose to a port on the pump, sump, or other water path. It changes the hose direction to fit the cabinet layout and helps keep the connection sealed so water can move without leaks.
This adapter can fail from cracks, warping, or wear at the sealing surfaces. Heat, vibration, and stress from a misrouted or kinked hose can weaken the plastic over time. A loose clamp or a hardened seal can also let water escape at the joint.
