The control panel is the main interface that lets you select drying cycles, temperature settings, and options on your electric dryer. It houses the selector switches, buttons, and wiring connections that send your chosen settings to the control board so the dryer runs the cycle you selected.

Control panels can fail from normal wear on the switches and contacts over years of use, moisture or lint buildup behind the panel, or physical damage from impact. Electrical surges or heat exposure inside the dryer cabinet can also degrade the wiring harness connections and internal components, causing the panel to respond poorly or stop working altogether.
