Whirlpool Washer Shock (W10822553)

The Whirlpool Washer Shock is a suspension damper that connects the outer tub to the washer base. It slows tub movement during wash and spin so the load stays more stable and the machine runs with less vibration.

Failure is often caused by normal wear, repeated heavy or unbalanced loads, or long-term stress from high-speed spinning. Over time the damper can lose resistance, the mounting points can wear, or the shock can leak and stop controlling tub motion as designed.

If your washer shows any of these signs, this part may be the cause:

• Excessive shaking or vibration during spin

• Banging, thumping, or tub knocking against the cabinet

• Washer “walking” or shifting position on the floor

• Uneven spinning or frequent out-of-balance stops

• Load repeatedly becoming unbalanced even when distributed

• Tub sitting lower than normal or moving too freely by hand
