The Whirlpool Dryer Door Seal fits around the dryer door opening to create a barrier between the drum area and the room. It helps keep heated air inside the dryer while the drum turns. It also cushions the door as it closes and helps the door latch and switch operate under normal pressure.

Failure often comes from wear and heat over time. The seal can flatten, crack, or tear from repeated door closing. It can also pull loose if the adhesive or mounting edge degrades. Lint buildup, sharp items in loads, or closing the door on fabric can damage the sealing surface and create gaps.
