The Whirlpool Washer Agitator is the central post inside the wash tub that moves clothing through the water during the wash cycle. It rotates back and forth to create the mechanical action that loosens and removes dirt from fabrics, working together with the drive system to deliver a thorough clean.

A Whirlpool washer agitator can wear out over time due to cracked or broken fins, stripped drive components, or damage from overloading the machine with heavy items.
