The Whirlpool Mounting Plate is a metal bracket that secures and supports the microwave during installation. It anchors to the wall and provides the rear hanging points and alignment for the appliance so it sits level and stays stable.
Common failures come from improper installation, over-tightened or missing fasteners, wall anchor pull-out, corrosion, or bending from impact or shifting weight. Damage can also happen when the microwave is removed and reinstalled, or when the plate is forced out of alignment.
These symptoms can help you decide whether replacing the mounting plate will address the issue:
Microwave sags, tilts, or will not sit level after mounting
Loose or shifting microwave that moves when the door opens or closes
Visible bending, cracking, or warping of the plate
Stripped or deformed mounting slots that will not hold screws securely
Wall fasteners repeatedly loosen or pull through the plate
Rattling or vibration from the rear mounting area during operation

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
