The Whirlpool Washer Rods support the washer tub and connect the tub to the cabinet through the suspension system. They help keep the tub centered during agitation and spin so the washer can run with controlled movement and reduced vibration.
These rods can fail from normal wear, repeated heavy or unbalanced loads, corrosion from moisture, or weakened spring and damping components over time. When the suspension loses tension or damping, the tub can move too far, which can lead to shaking, noise, and off-balance conditions.
Symptoms that can point to worn or damaged suspension rods include:
- Washer shakes, rocks, or “walks” across the floor during spin
- Frequent out-of-balance errors or the cycle stops to rebalance
- Loud banging or thumping as the tub hits the cabinet
- Clothes remain wetter than normal because the washer cannot reach full spin speed
- Tub sits unevenly, leans to one side, or feels overly loose when pushed by hand

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
