The Whirlpool Power Cord supplies electrical power from a wall outlet to the appliance. It connects to the internal wiring at the terminal block and provides a stable path for current so the unit can start, heat, and run cycles as designed.
Power cords can fail from wear at the plug, bending and pulling near the strain relief, overheating from a loose terminal connection, or damage from pinching, abrasion, or corrosion. A cord may also fail after arcing at the terminal block or if the insulation cracks and exposes the conductors.
These symptoms can help you decide whether replacing the power cord may address the issue:
Appliance will not power on, but the outlet tests good
Intermittent power loss when the cord is moved
Burning smell, scorch marks, or melted insulation at the plug or where the cord connects
Visible cuts, cracks, fraying, or exposed wire on the cord jacket
Sparking or buzzing at the plug or terminal connection
Tripped breaker or blown fuse when the appliance is plugged in or started

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
