The Whirlpool Rocker Switch controls an on/off function in an appliance by opening and closing an electrical circuit when you press one side of the switch. It sends power to the selected feature so the appliance can respond to your input. When the switch is working, it clicks or rocks smoothly and changes the appliance’s operation right away.
This switch can fail from worn internal contacts, heat buildup, moisture intrusion, or repeated high-load cycling. A loose terminal connection or a cracked housing can also stop the switch from making a steady connection. Over time, the switch may work only when pressed a certain way, then stop working.
