The Whirlpool Ice Maker Tube guides water from the inlet line into the ice maker fill cup so the mold can fill and freeze properly. It keeps the water stream aimed and helps prevent leaks, splashing, or misdirected flow that can lead to ice buildup in the wrong areas.
This tube can fail when it cracks, loosens at the connection, becomes kinked, or gets blocked by mineral deposits or ice. Freezer temperature swings, a partially clogged water supply, or repeated ice formation around the fill area can also cause the tube to split or pull out of position.
If you are troubleshooting an ice maker fill or leak issue, these symptoms can help indicate this tube may be the cause:
- No ice production because the mold is not filling with water
- Small, hollow, or incomplete ice cubes from reduced water flow
- Water leaking or dripping inside the freezer near the ice maker
- Ice buildup around the fill cup or behind/above the ice maker
- Water spraying, splashing, or missing the fill cup during the fill cycle

- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
