The door gasket forms a watertight seal around the perimeter of the dishwasher door, preventing water from escaping the tub during a wash cycle. It is made of flexible rubber or silicone and compresses against the door frame when the door is latched, keeping water contained throughout every cycle.

If your appliance documentation or old part uses any of these numbers, this is the correct, updated component for your repair.
Gaskets deteriorate over time from repeated exposure to heat, moisture, and detergent, causing the material to crack, harden, or pull away from the door frame. A gasket can also warp or lose its shape if the dishwasher door is slammed frequently or if cleaning products cause the rubber to break down prematurely.
If you notice any of the following, your door gasket may need to be replaced:
- Water pooling on the floor in front of or around the dishwasher during or after a cycle
- Visible cracks, tears, or stiff sections along the door seal
- The gasket feels brittle or crumbles when you flex it by hand
- Moisture or wet residue along the bottom edge of the dishwasher door
- A musty or mildew smell near the door caused by trapped moisture
- The gasket has pulled loose or shifted out of its channel around the door
- Dishes are less clean or dry due to steam escaping during the cycle
