The Whirlpool Dryer Lint Screen catches lint and small debris as air moves through the dryer. It helps keep airflow open so clothes dry as expected. You remove it for routine cleaning, then reinstall it to keep lint from reaching the blower housing and vent path.
Important Compatibility Note: Part number W11778253 is the current manufacturer-approved replacement for the following discontinued part number(s): W11607443, WPW10717210. If your appliance documentation or old part uses any of these numbers, this is the correct, updated component for your repair.
