The GE Range Burner Knob is the control you turn to ignite and adjust the flame on your gas range or dual fuel range burner. It connects directly to the burner valve stem and lets you set the heat level from off to high, giving you precise control over cooking temperature with each turn.
GE range burner knobs commonly wear out from repeated use, heat exposure, and grease buildup that can cause the plastic to crack, warp, or strip out on the inside where it grips the valve stem. A damaged knob may spin loosely without turning the valve, making it impossible to control the burner safely or reliably.
Here are some signs that your burner knob may need to be replaced:
- Knob spins freely without changing the burner setting
- Knob is cracked, chipped, or broken
- Knob feels loose or wobbles on the valve stem
- Markings or labels on the knob are worn off and hard to read
- Knob is difficult to push in or turn smoothly
- Burner will not turn off completely because the knob no longer engages the valve
