The GE Microwave Grease Filter captures airborne grease, smoke, and cooking residue before they reach the internal components and ventilation system of the microwave. It sits beneath the microwave cavity and works by trapping grease particles as air is drawn through it during cooking, protecting the blower fan and motor from buildup over time.

The GE Microwave Grease Filter can become clogged or degraded from repeated exposure to heavy cooking grease, steam, and smoke. When the filter is saturated or damaged, airflow through the ventilation system is restricted, which can cause the microwave to overheat, perform poorly, or leave cooking odors and grease circulating back into your kitchen.
