GE Gas Range Top Electrode (WB13T10065)

The GE Gas Range Top Electrode is the ignition component that creates the spark needed to light the surface burners on your gas range. When you turn a burner knob, the electrode receives a high-voltage signal from the igniter switch and produces a rapid clicking spark at the burner head to ignite the gas. It works together with the ignition module to deliver a reliable flame each time you cook.

The GE Gas Range Top Electrode can wear out from grease buildup, food spills, or moisture that coat the tip and weaken the spark. Physical damage from cleaning or impact, along with cracking of the ceramic insulator over time, can also cause the electrode to fail or arc incorrectly. A worn or fouled electrode may spark inconsistently or stop working entirely, leaving one or more burners unable to light.

These symptoms may point to a faulty top electrode on your gas range:

- One burner clicks repeatedly but does not ignite

- Burner takes much longer than usual to light

- No clicking or sparking at a specific burner when the knob is turned

- Electrode sparks continuously even when the knob is in the off position

- Visible cracks, chips, or heavy buildup on the electrode tip

- Burner lights unevenly or flame is weak and unstable at ignition
