The GE Range Igniter Glowbar is the part in your gas range that heats up to ignite the burner and open the gas valve during the bake cycle. It draws electrical current to glow hot enough to light the gas, and that same heat signals the safety valve to release gas into the oven burner. Without a working igniter, your oven cannot light or maintain temperature.
