The GE Broil Igniter Glowbar is the component in your gas range or dual fuel oven that lights the broil burner and allows it to stay lit during cooking. When you turn on the broil function, the glowbar heats up, draws enough current to open the gas valve, and ignites the gas to produce the high heat needed for broiling. Without a properly functioning igniter, the broil burner cannot light or maintain the correct temperature.
