GE Range Igniter Glowbar (WB13X40208)

The GE Range Igniter Glowbar is the component responsible for lighting the gas burner in your range's oven. It works by heating up to an extremely high temperature, which opens the gas valve and allows gas to flow before igniting it to start the oven burner. Without a functioning igniter, the oven burner cannot light or maintain proper heat.

GE range igniter glowbars commonly fail after years of repeated heating and cooling cycles, which cause the element to weaken and eventually crack or burn out. A weak igniter may still glow but not reach the temperature needed to open the gas valve, leading to delayed ignition or no ignition at all. Exposure to grease, moisture, or rough handling can also shorten the igniter's lifespan.
