GE Range Temperature Sensor (WB20K10027)

The GE Range Temperature Sensor monitors the heat inside the oven cavity and sends readings to the control board so it can maintain accurate cooking temperatures. It works by measuring electrical resistance that changes with heat, allowing the control board to turn the bake or broil element on and off to hold your set temperature.

A GE range temperature sensor can fail from prolonged exposure to high heat, physical damage from contact with oven racks or cookware, or gradual drift in its resistance readings over time. When the sensor stops sending accurate signals, the control board can no longer regulate oven heat correctly, leading to cooking problems that are easy to confuse with other issues.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if the temperature sensor is the source of your range trouble:

- Oven runs too hot or too cool compared to the set temperature

- Food consistently overcooked or undercooked despite correct settings

- Oven takes much longer than usual to preheat

- F3 or F4 error code displayed on the control panel

- Oven shuts off unexpectedly during cooking

- Bake or broil function will not start at all

- Temperature swings wildly and does not hold steady
