GE Range Temperature Sensor (WB23T10015)

The GE Range Temperature Sensor monitors the heat inside your oven cavity and sends that information to the control board, which uses it to regulate the heating elements or burners and maintain the temperature you set. It works by measuring electrical resistance that changes with heat, allowing the range to cycle on and off accurately to keep your oven at the right temperature throughout baking or roasting.

A GE range temperature sensor can fail due to heat stress over time, physical damage from contact with oven racks or pans, or a break in the sensor's wiring connection. When the sensor stops reading correctly, the control board loses the feedback it needs, causing the oven to run too hot, too cool, or to shut off unexpectedly during cooking.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if your temperature sensor needs to be replaced:

- Oven temperature is consistently too high or too low compared to the set temperature

- Food burns or comes out undercooked even at normal settings

- Oven takes much longer than usual to preheat

- Range displays an error or fault code related to temperature sensing

- Oven shuts off on its own before cooking is complete

- Oven does not heat at all despite burners or elements appearing to function
