GE Oven Temperature Sensor (WB23X5340)

The GE Oven Temperature Sensor monitors the internal temperature of your oven cavity and sends that reading to the control board, which uses it to regulate the heating elements or burners. It works by changing its electrical resistance as the oven heats up, allowing the control board to maintain the target temperature you set on the range.

A GE oven temperature sensor can fail from prolonged exposure to high heat cycles, grease buildup on the probe, physical damage from contact with cookware, or simple wear over time. When the sensor drifts out of calibration or fails entirely, the control board loses accurate temperature feedback and can no longer heat the oven correctly.

These symptoms may point to a faulty oven temperature sensor in your gas range or dual fuel range:

- Oven runs too hot or too cold compared to the set temperature

- Food consistently burns or comes out undercooked

- Oven takes much longer than usual to preheat

- Oven does not maintain a steady temperature during cooking
