GE Surface Element Control (WB24T10146)

The GE Surface Element Control manages the power delivered to a surface burner on your electric range, allowing you to adjust heat levels from low to high with a simple turn of the knob. It works by sending the correct amount of electricity to the coil or radiant element based on the position you select, giving you precise temperature control for cooking.

The GE Surface Element Control can wear out over time due to repeated use, electrical arcing, heat exposure, or internal contact failure. When the control degrades, it may no longer regulate power correctly, causing the element to behave unpredictably or stop responding to knob adjustments altogether.

If you notice any of these symptoms on your electric range, the surface element control may need to be replaced:

- Burner stays on high heat regardless of the knob setting

- Burner does not heat up at all when turned on

- Element cycles on and off erratically or inconsistently

- Knob turns but produces no change in heat level

- Burning smell or visible scorching near the control area

- Only certain heat settings work while others do not respond

- Surface burner sparks or shows signs of electrical arcing
