The GE Microwave Synchronous Motor is a small electric motor that drives the turntable plate inside your microwave or Advantium oven, rotating it slowly and steadily throughout the cooking cycle. By keeping food moving in a circular path, it ensures even heat distribution so your food cooks consistently without hot or cold spots. It connects to the turntable coupler and guide ring to transfer rotation from the motor shaft to the glass tray.

The GE Microwave Synchronous Motor can wear out over time from normal use, heat exposure, or physical damage to the motor shaft or coupling. If the motor becomes noisy, seizes up, or loses power from electrical issues inside the microwave, it will stop turning the turntable and leave food unevenly heated.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the synchronous motor needs to be replaced:

- Turntable does not rotate during cooking
