The GE Range Cooling Fan circulates air through the interior of the range to protect sensitive electronic components from heat buildup during and after cooking. It draws cooler air across the control board, display, and other heat-sensitive parts, then exhausts the warm air away to keep internal temperatures within a safe operating range.
The GE Range Cooling Fan can fail due to normal motor wear, dust and grease accumulation on the fan blades, or electrical faults that prevent the motor from receiving power. A damaged or seized fan leaves electronics exposed to excessive heat, which can cause control board failures or erratic range behavior over time.
Look for these symptoms to help determine if the cooling fan in your electric range needs to be replaced:
- Control panel feels unusually hot to the touch during or after use
- Range shuts off unexpectedly during operation due to overheating
- Display goes blank or behaves erratically when the oven is hot
- No airflow or fan noise when the oven is running or cooling down
- Burning smell coming from the control area of the range
- Fan runs continuously and never shuts off after cooking
- Loud rattling or grinding noise from the fan area during operation

- Returns are accepted within 60 days if the part is unused, in original packaging, and over $15 in value.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to eligible returns.
- Shipping is non-refundable.
- Items returned without approval won’t be accepted.
