GE 8 Inch Radiant Element (WB30T10132)

The GE 8 Inch Radiant Element is the heating component beneath the glass cooktop surface that generates heat through an internal coil and transfers it evenly across the cooking zone. When electricity flows through the element, it glows red and heats the glass surface above it, allowing pots and pans to cook food at the selected temperature. It is designed for use in GE electric ranges with a smooth glass cooktop.

A GE 8 Inch Radiant Element can fail due to burnout from prolonged high-heat use, power surges, or damage to the internal coil over time. Cracks in the element, loose connections, or corrosion at the terminals can also cause the element to stop working or heat unevenly.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if this element needs to be replaced:

- The 8 inch cooking zone does not heat up at all

- The element heats unevenly or only partially glows red

- Visible cracks, burns, or blistering on or beneath the cooktop surface

- Food takes much longer than expected to cook on that burner

- The element cycles on and off erratically during use

- A burning smell or scorch marks near the affected cooking zone
