The GE Electric Range Dual Radiant Element is a cooktop heating component that uses two separate heating zones — a smaller inner ring and a larger outer ring — to give you flexible temperature control across different pot and pan sizes. When you select a low to medium heat setting, only the inner element activates, while higher settings or the expanded cooking zone engage the full dual element for faster, more even heat distribution across the surface.

A GE dual radiant element can burn out or fail from repeated heating cycles, power surges, spills that seep beneath the glass cooktop surface, or physical damage from heavy cookware. One or both rings may stop working independently, making it difficult to control heat accurately or use the burner at all.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if your dual radiant element needs to be replaced:
