The GE Electric Bake Element is the lower heating component inside your electric range that generates the heat needed for baking and roasting. It works by converting electrical current into radiant heat, evenly warming the oven cavity from the bottom up to cook food thoroughly.

A GE electric bake element can fail from normal wear over time, power surges, or heat stress from repeated high-temperature cycles. Physical damage such as cracks, blisters, or burn-through spots on the element surface are common signs that it has reached the end of its life and can no longer heat properly.
