GE Electric Range Broil Element (WB44K5009)

The GE Electric Range Broil Element is the upper heating component inside your oven that provides direct, high-intensity heat for broiling foods. It works by converting electrical current into radiant heat, cycling on and off to maintain the temperature needed to brown, sear, or cook food quickly from above.

A GE electric range broil element can fail due to normal wear over time, exposure to grease splatter, or physical damage from contact with cookware or food. Internal breaks in the element's heating coil are the most common cause of failure, and the element may show visible signs of damage or simply stop producing heat without any obvious external clue.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the broil element needs to be replaced:
