The GE Electric Bake Element is the lower heating component in your electric range that provides the primary heat for baking and roasting. It works by converting electrical current into heat, radiating warmth evenly throughout the oven cavity to bring it up to the set temperature. When functioning properly, it cycles on and off to maintain consistent heat during cooking.

The GE Electric Bake Element can fail from normal wear over time, exposure to grease or food spills that cause hot spots, or physical damage from items dropped inside the oven. Electrical surges or prolonged high-temperature use can also weaken the element until it eventually burns out or stops heating altogether.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if your bake element needs to be replaced:
