GE Electric Bake Element (WB44T10016)

The GE Electric Bake Element is the lower heating component inside your electric range that produces the heat needed for baking and roasting. It works by converting electrical current into radiant heat, warming the oven cavity evenly from the bottom up to cook food at the set temperature.

GE electric bake elements can fail from repeated heating and cooling cycles that cause the metal to crack or break down over time, or from food spills and grease buildup that create hot spots and damage the element surface. When the GE Electric Bake Element burns out or shorts, the oven may heat unevenly or stop heating from the bottom entirely.

Look for these symptoms to help determine if your bake element needs to be replaced:

- Oven does not heat up at all when set to bake

- Food is undercooked on the bottom or bakes unevenly

- Visible cracks, holes, or blistering on the element surface

- Element glows only partially or not at all during baking

- Sparking or popping sounds coming from the bottom of the oven
