GE Electric Convection Element (WB44T10053)

The GE Electric Convection Element is the heating component inside your electric range's oven that works alongside the convection fan to circulate hot air evenly throughout the oven cavity. It wraps around the fan at the back of the oven and generates heat that the fan then distributes, helping food cook more evenly and efficiently than a standard bake element alone.

A GE electric convection element can fail due to normal wear over time, power surges, grease buildup causing hotspots, or physical damage from contact with oven racks or cookware. When the element burns out or breaks, the convection system can no longer maintain consistent heat, leaving you with uneven cooking results or an oven that won't heat properly.

Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the convection element needs to be replaced:

- Oven takes significantly longer than usual to reach the set temperature

- Food cooks unevenly, with some areas undercooked or overcooked
